Future options After achieving Level 1 you can progress to Level 2 full-time, an apprenticeship or work as a trainee in the sector. Course includes You will learn the basic principles of stonemasonry on this course, understanding the philosophy of stonework. Health and safety will surround everything you do as you increase your knowledge on design, cutting and safe use of our industry standard tools and equipment. Level 2 Diploma in Stonemasonry Duration One year Location Moulton Entry requirements Completion of a Level 1 Diploma in Stonemasonry. GCSE grades A-C/4-9 in English and Maths, subject to a skills assessment. Future options A Level 2 Diploma will give you the chance to progress to Level 3 full-time, an apprenticeship, full-time employment in the industry as a stonemason or to set up as a sole trader (self-employed) in the sector. Course includes This course will develop your stonemasonry skills to a higher level, expanding on your knowledge of health and safety in the workshop as well as the principles of architectural heritage, conservation and restoration. You will also learn the theoretical basis for planning and designing your work ahead of time. Level 3 Diploma in Stonemasonry Duration One year Location Moulton Entry requirements Completion of level 2 Diploma in Stonemasonry. Future options A Level 3 Diploma will give you the chance to progress to further study, an apprenticeship or work in the industry either as self-employed or a full-time stonemason. Course includes You will further develop your skills in stonemasonry on this course. You will learn how to plan and price construction work preparing for work after your course. You will set out and make templates for complex stonemasonry components as well as learning conservation and restoration techniques for architectural heritage.
