Agriculture If you want the ideal start to a career in agriculture and want to gain the qualifications and industry experience that employers are looking for, then our courses are for you. Our wide variety of courses and first-class industry experience prepare you for a career in a diverse agricultural environment. Agriculture students have access to an extensive range of specialist resources at the College. Here at Moulton, there are over 460 hectares of farmed estate on a range of soil types. You’ll use the estate to learn how to use different machinery and to also develop your skills and knowledge in crop walking, soil science and practical investigations. Our Lodge Farm is home to the sheep units and machinery workshops, and we have a beef unit at our Pitsford Centre. You’ll be involved in the breeding, rearing and selling of the livestock. The workshops maintain the machinery that is used on the farm estate. This includes tractors, forklifts and all-terrain vehicles which are essential tools for farm estate maintenance. The workshops are also fitted with specialist equipment that you’ll use to service, diagnose and repair machinery to develop your engineering skills. How will I learn? All students complete commercial experience on the College Estate and also work experience through off-site work placements as part of their programme. In addition to our practical teaching approach, our outstanding study resources include science laboratories and a Learning Resource Centre, meaning there has never been a better time to study at Moulton College. Maths and English All students who have not achieved a grade C or 4-5 in GCSE English or maths are required to complete a tailored study programme to develop these skills. All lessons embed English and maths skills, ensuring that all students that study at Moulton College are able to apply these transferable skills to any given role. 26 Call 01604 491131 Email enquiries@moulton.ac.uk Visit www.moulton.ac.uk
