Course includes This one year course will introduce you to the fundamentals of countryside and estate maintenance, with activities such as hedge laying, coppicing and propagation. You will develop your practical skills and gain underpinning knowledge. Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture Duration One Year Location Moulton Entry requirements Four GCSE grades at D-E/2-3 or above or a Level 1 Diploma in a related subject. Future options A Level 2 Diploma will give you the chance to progress to Level 3 or an apprenticeship. Alternatively, you may go on to be an assistant gardener, groundsman, nursery person, production horticulturalist, garden product sales person or land based machinery operator. Course includes Our Level 2 course in Horticulture will develop your experience in maintaining landscapes, estates and green spaces, focusing on plant propagation, machinery maintenance and operation and plant and soil science. You will work closely with a range of landscape machinery to shape the environment around the campus, learning to correctly identify a wide range of plants as you go. Future options This course can lead to a Foundation Degree or employment as a head gardener, assistant gardener, landscaper, groundsman, green keeper, garden designer, botanist, production horticulture, nursery person, garden product sales person, landbased machinery operator or agronomist. Course includes The focus of this two-year course will enhance your skills in landscape construction, garden design, advanced propagation and sports turf maintenance.
