Construction of Houses Video CollectionThis collection includes the Construction of Houses Series and the Building History and Building Conservation Series. These films are aimed at students and trainees that are involved in the study, development, construction, management, and surveying of houses. The films are designed to introduce the viewer to the evolution, practice and principles of domestic building construction, or are documentary films concentrating on the history of building and their conservation. Each film is usually less than 30 minutes in length. A combination of site footage and computer generated graphics helps the viewer assimilate and understand material which, when taught by more traditional teaching methods, is often complex, sometimes contradictory, and occasionally obscured by specialist terminology. Many of the films in this series have been privately sponsored Iron, for example, sponsored by D.R. Conservation and Bricks and Brick making sponsored by the Brick Development Association. ► More information |
