This course is for Students 16+ looking to start a career within floristry. If you like to interact with others, be creative and are keen to develop practical, technical floristry skills, then this qualification is for you.
Throughout this qualification you will learn about different flowers and plants and how to look after them. You will also learn that there is much more to Floristry than flowers and that for florists to be successful, they need to understand their tools, environment and the finishing touches that make a difference. With this, you will develop an understanding of design principles and the skills needed to apply these to the design and creation of floristry products. You will gain an understanding of how floristry businesses operate and develop skills needed to interact with customer and identify their needs.
You may or may not have any experience in floristry. You will gain an understanding of the skills and knowledge that are important when you are working in a floristry setting, or progressing to further learning and training in this area. On successful completion of this course you may progress on to Level 3 Technical Diploma in Floristry
Your course will be formerly assessed by a multiple choice exam based on Health and Safety, an exam based on general floristry and a Synoptic (practical) assessment. Throughout the course there will be in-house tests on flower and plant identification, written assignments and practical assessments to track your progress.
