Students at Moulton work with industry practitioners to develop work-ready skills and knowledge. The Building Maintenance course has been designed to ensure learners have the skills and training required to achieve the qualification and to cater for the ever-changing stocks of properties that need maintaining. You will undertake training in a variety of trade subjects including carpentry and joinery, brickwork, plastering, painting and decorating, plumbing and tiling. Providing the technical and practical knowledge required, this course is both rewarding and informative and, upon completion, you will achieve an industry- recognised qualification. You will be required to complete work-related experience as part of your study programme. How will I learn? Our lecturers are specialists in their subjects and have up to date knowledge and experience in building maintenance. They will guide you to achieve your best through setting targets and maintaining high expectations within a supportive teaching and learning environment. You will attend an exciting combination of theory and practical sessions, completing a range of trade tasks covering all aspects of maintenance work that will prepare you for practical assessments and multiple choice knowledge exams. Maths and English All students who have not achieved a grade C or 4-5 in GCSE English or maths are required to complete a tailored study programme to develop these skills. All lessons embed English and maths skills, ensuring that all students that study at Moulton College are able to apply these transferable skills to any given role.
