Future options After achieving your Level 1 you can progress to Level 2 full-time or an apprenticeship. Course includes On the level 1 Introductory Diploma, you will learn the basics of working within the land- based sector. You will have practical sessions in our Animal Welfare Centre and Equine Yard to learn about basic animal care. You will also have lessons on plant care which is an essential part of working within the animal care industry. Additionally, you will cover topics that will help to develop your personal skills such as researching a topic and being organised. Level 2 Diploma in Horse Care Duration One year Location Moulton Entry requirements Four GCSE grades at D-E/2-3 or above or a Level 1 Diploma in a related subject. Future options After achieving a level 2, many students progress onto a Level 3 Diploma, an Extended Diploma in Horse Management full-time or an apprenticeship. Alternatively, you may go on to be a competition rider, riding/exercise groom, competition groom or assistant head groom. Course includes This course will advance your knowledge of horse management and care. Your passion for horse care will allow you to learn the vital skills needed to care for and prepare competition horses as well as basic horse biology and physiology. You will also cover correct and proper horse handling, feeding and watering.
