Students completing a Painting and Decorating course at Moulton have access to excellent facilities with sessions delivered by our professional lecturers, covering the full range of the nationally recognised City and Guilds Diploma qualifications. This course is a perfect start for those wanting to pursue a career within this specialism, beginning with the Level 1 Diploma in Painting and Decorating in your first year before progressing onto the Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating as the next step. You will be required to complete work-related experience as part of your study programme. How will I learn? Our lecturers are specialists in their subjects and have up-to-date knowledge and experience in painting and decorating. They will guide you to achieve your best through setting targets and maintaining high expectations within a supportive teaching and learning environment. You will attend an exciting combination of theory and practical sessions, performing tasks that cover a large range of activities completed within the industry. Maths and English All students who have not achieved a grade C or 4-5 in GCSE English or maths are required to complete a tailored study programme to develop these skills. Level 1 Diploma in Painting and Decorating Duration One Year Location Moulton Entry requirements GCSE grades at E-G/1-2 or equivalent or an entry Level 3 Diploma in a related subject. Future options After achieving Level 1 you can progress to a Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating full- time, an apprenticeship or full-time employment as a trainee painter and decorator. Course includes This qualification will give you the fundamental skills of painting and decorating, learning the basics of health and safety, the principles of building construction and the proper care of tools and equipment. You will be capable of erecting and dismantling work platforms as well as the correct application of paint, by brush and roller, and foundation to walls. You will also specialise in producing decorative finishes to your work.
