Our wide variety of courses and first- class industry experience prepare you for working with countryside organisations such as the Environmental Agency, Natural England, National Trust or private estates and country parks. Countryside students have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College. Our purpose-built Wilson Countryside Management Centre houses specialist workshops for estate maintenance and fish rearing facilities. You’ll use the centre to develop your conservation, ecology and estate management skills. Our extensive College estate is used for developing a variety of estate and habitat management skills such as coppicing, bee keeping, dry stone walling and hedge laying. We also have close links with a number of local estates and organisations providing access to different habitat management projects to enhance your learning experience. You will complete commercial experience on the estate working towards the College’s agri-environmental schemes and commercial enterprises. Work experience will also be completed as part of the course through your chosen industry placement. In addition, our outstanding study resources include science laboratories and a Learning Resource Centre, meaning there has never been a better time to study at Moulton College. How will I learn? Our lecturers are all specialists in the sector and have a range of experience working in relevant industries from government agencies to private estates. They will guide you to achieve your targets by setting high expectations in a supportive teaching and learning environment. Expect to study an exciting combination of theory and practical, with ongoing assessment throughout your course. Maths and English All students who have not achieved a grade C or 4-5 in GCSE English or maths are required to complete a tailored study programme to develop these skills. All lessons embed English and maths skills, ensuring that all students that study at Moulton College are able to apply these transferable skills to any given role.
